Website Help For Using Keywords

Website keywords are very important.  You will find endless pages on the importance of keywords, but simply, your keyword should be the theme or subject of your website.

Therefore, you will probably have one or two main keywords.

EXAMPLE:

So if your website is about art, you will want to clarify what kind of art and use this as your theme and main keywords.

The keyword "art" sounds pretty good...why not just use the word "art" for your website's theme and keyword?  Because there is simply too much competition from large, established websites about "art" in general.

So if you work in oils and paint horses, you will want the title, theme and main keywords of your website to contain the words "oil paintings" and "horses".  So your title might be something like "Oil Painted Horses" or "Horses In Realistic Oil Paintings", you get the idea. Your theme is "horse paintings" and your main keywords might also be "horse paintings, paintings, oil paintings".

When using this method of deciding the theme, title and keywords of your website, you will attract actual art collectors who are searching for paintings that feature horses, instead of buyers that only want to buy the actual horses.  This will help to sell your paintings, as you are attracting visitors that are looking to buy your specific type of art.

Here is a quick and simple summary of where you will want to put your keywords:

1.  Keywords should go in the title of your website.

2.  Put keywords in all of the url's (links) of your website pages.

3.  Keywords should go in your links as much as possible.  Link to other pages in your site and put your keywords in outbound links to other websites.

4.  Keywords should always go in the "alt" tags of your images.  (You will be surprised how much traffic is generated through Google images.)

5.  Keywords should also be added to your meta tags.

6.  Type a few of your keywords in bold in your paragraphs, and break up your page into sections with headings that contain your keywords typed in bold.

7.  Add keywords in your content as much as you can.  Too many keywords can have a negative affect on your search engine optimization, so use them wisely.  Add keywords more at the beginning and end of your website pages.

8.  You can view a detailed page of keywords by viewing another sample Information Home Page that matches the sample Main and Individual Product pages.
